Last night as I was channel surfing, I came across Breakfast at Tiffany’s on Zee Studio. It’s one of those films you just have to stop and watch, no matter where you’re watching from. I managed to catch the last scene.
The influence of Breakfast at Tiffany’s on popular culture cannot even be measured. One of my favourite television shows, Gossip Girl paid a tribute to it through Blair’s dream.
I love trench-coats. Doesn’t Leighton Meester do a good Audrey Hepburn?
When I travelled to the UK, I posed with Audrey Hepburn’s wax statue at Madame Tussaud’s. The Moon River soundtrack plays overhead. The picture unfortunately is only imprinted in my mind. My cousin promised to give us the photos and we haven’t seen them. Below is a picture of what it looks like though.
Closer to home, a Breakfast at Tiffany’s image has been tweaked for a popular advertising campaign.
Tanishq jewellers have a store at Shoppers’ Stop in Juhu and therefore, the image has made it’s way on to a carry bag. Click on the link to my earlier post to see what it looks like: No Riksha Day Outfit
And even closer to me is a bag I picked up at Loose Ends in Mumbai. When I went for the last day of the Kala Ghoda Arts’ Festival, I was wearing my new dress from Golmaal. I felt very Mad Men inspired and thought I must carry my Audrey Hepburn bag. You should watch Mad Men for its vintage fashion. The television show is based on America in the 60s, the same time Breakfast at Tiffany’s released.
