A couple of years ago, I started a Cousins’ Club. Now, you have to understand I have a huge family. My dad has seven siblings. Of course, they all have spouses and children. That makes my first cousins run into fifteen, of which some have spouses and children. So, the numerical strength of our CC is 28. But this post isn’t about the math. 🙂 It’s about the initiative all of us took to meet up, have fun and be updated on each other’s lives. We meet once a month, the host decides on a theme; food, drinks and games to go with it. Last month, it was ze sister’s and my turn. The sister has been learning French and we’re still hungover from Paris. The theme was French, Cadbury Bournville decided we had earned it and sent us wine and chocolate to go with. It went great!
One of the games was to put your best foot forward and strike a pose with the Cadbury Bournville and Sula wine of your choice.
My cousin Sapna was hilarious! She was pretty serious as she held the wine bottle and re-enacted the scene from Sholay. My family can be quite filmy like that. Although, it wasn’t as serious. It was an announcement of the next Cousins’ Club.
Another game was to make groups and tie the three scarves laid out around oneself in the most innovative possible. I don’t know about innovation but as usual, we got some really funny ones.
Of course, we had to reward the best dressed.
The girls didn’t know the exact details of their outfits. Although I can tell you polka-dotted stockings and heart embossed stockings are available at Vero Moda. Himani’s borrowed her top from mum. Her skirt was also dug out from the back of her cupboard. It was a straight fit knee-length skirt that I altered to look like a mini skirt. She further altered it to fit her waist.
To give it a french twist, my sister calls me ‘Aleece’. I love it! I wore:
Dress – Promod at G7 mall, Versova | Vest – Bangkok | Stockings | Ring – Spyra Jewellery at Bliss, Versova
Tip: Innovate with sashes, ribbons, etc. When I was buying the dress, the sales girl told me I had to tie the dress at the back but I choose to make a bow at the front. Everyone loves it and enquiries where my ‘cute’ dress is from. 🙂
I love how adorable my little nephews and nieces are. Since they can’t eat everything and especially not drink wine, they were happy to endorse the chocolate bars they had scored. Cadbury Bournville, don’t they earn it just for being cute?
We had a great time! Thank you Cadbury Bournville and Sula Vineyards for sending over chocolate and wine and making everyone feel like they had earned it. We were also stuffed on food that mum put so much effort into preparing. The sister was a sweetheart to organize games and prizes for everyone. It was a blast! When are you having your wine and chocolate party?
