Wearing Elle to the Allen Solly & Vogue School Of Style

Alice wandering…

Phew! That’s a lot of brand names in the title. As my sister likes to put it, I’m a ‘prankster’. So I wore my newest Elle dress to the Allen Solly & Vogue ‘School Of Style’. It’s a different print for me yet within my realm.

We finally have a legit outfit post. Thanks to my sister, the ‘photographeress’, you can see the details of my look.

Do you think our looks work? Apart from the fact that I need to lose weight (just being honest), did I do okay?

As I wander away, I have to mention how excited I am for the first Elle FashionWear bloggers’ meet. I have to dress for a ‘mid-day in Paris’ and I’m looking for inspiration. Feel free to throw ideas at me. Thanks!

Bar Hopping: The Little Door

I was first introduced to this Mediterranean pub by a friend on a Sunday evening. A bunch of us girls tried a couple of cocktails and some starters and went back home with some good memories. I was fascinated with the details, the wishing bottles, the coasters, the beer chugging contests, the menu and the “little door”.

An exchange of facebook messages later, I found myself at The Little Door again. Only this time I was in my Alice avatar, ready to pose and pout and review the mocktails, starters and mains.

On speaking with the really tall manager, I discovered that the owners of the place had turned vegetarian for a year or two. In that time, they realised that most bars in the city didn’t have sufficient vegetarian options. Bearing that knowledge, when devising the menu for The Little Door, they focused on the vegetarian section with as much vigour as the non-vegetarian. Which worked out perfectly well for me. The fun menu is divided into three: “from the farmers”, “from the fishermen” and “from the hunters”.

Tommy Hilfiger Spring/Summer 2012 Collection Review

Isn’t it tricky what you should wear when you go shopping? I was headed to the Tommy Hilfiger store in Mumbai to review their spring/summer collection and hopefully, make an addition to my wardrobe.

What I wore: Flower Pot Printed Dress – Chemistry | Clutch – BlackCurrent at Bliss | Shoes – Platinum Mall, Bangkok

What I tried: I put together three different looks so you get a feel and idea of the range.

First up, it was a blue and white dress with piping on the neckline and a waist belt to match. I loved the casual avatar. The fabric is perfect for the summers, the striped pattern is classic and the silhouette comfortable. And you don’t need to break the bank to own it, it’s aptly priced.

Sula Vineyards is quickly becoming one of my favourite places for a weekend getaway. And when my sister comes along, it’s a photographing riot. I love posing. She loves clicking. This is one of my favourite pictures from our recent trip to the vineyards. I love how my hair was flying in the wind and I was so happy, it was showing in my smile. You should try it. It’ll do wonders.

Btw, I’m loving florals for the summer. Have you got yours on?

It’s about what you wear to the derby

I spent Sunday at the races. There was some great fashion on display and the sheer energy of the place made the hour and a half long wait to get in worthwhile. As fun as it was, it was also a nostalgic event. I remembered going to the derby years ago with my dad. In between races, they would a play a segment on derby dressing on the screen. I was enamoured. Little did I know then, I would be up on the screen this year dishing out tips on how to put together a look for the derby.

Take a look:

You like?

In case you were wondering what I finally wore to the derby, I’m sharing some pictures.
