So, Jean Claude Biguine is taking fashion bloggers seriously. A bunch of us were invited for a workshop on beauty and hair tips for the summer. It wasn’t all serious business though. We indulged in wine, food and pampering sessions. This time around, I thought I’d try the mini manicure. I picked a bold purple colour. I’d met Aastha earlier in the day to discuss the upcoming yard sale. And she wanted a mini mani too. We were like girls right out of a tv show, spending an evening chatting over manis. MissMalini and Sue were there too! We met girlyhour. And it’s really funny when you finally meet people you’ve been interacting with through blogs, emails and technology. Sonu and Jasleen from Fashion Bombay were there. It was a lot of fun talking to so many different people. Hoping for more fun! 😀
Aastha (of Indian Summer) & I had a meeting scheduled at the Sula Vineyards office. Since it was very close to the Palladium, we couldn’t resist checking out the various sales.
We had a nice, quick lunch at the Indigo Deli. They should be offering me a loyalty card because I pay them a visit every month and sometimes, thrice in the same month. Anyway, you must try their potato, corn and jalapeno burger. It’s really filling and delicious. I had a lemon and mint slush as an accompaniment.

We both ended up carrying pleather bags. While I had bought mine in Bangkok, she bought hers at Lokhandwala in Mumbai. Pleather bags are great to carry to meetings and have enough pockets to organize your stuff.

The meeting went off well. Aniruddha Guha dropped in and clicked our pictures. We’re really excited to collaborate again and bring “From the rabbit hole: A vine’yard’ sale” to Sulafest ’11. One more reason for you people to join in.

The yard sale started off with another sighting in the press. It was a huge spread in the Mid Day.

All our apprehensions and anxiety were put to rest with the response.
We encountered enthusiastic customers, foreign buyers, media persons and it was a whole lot of fun.
You can relive the experience through the pictures:
As you already know, me (Dhruvi of Alice Wandering), Aastha (of Indian Summer), Karishma (of Purple Peep Toes) and Samidha (of Street Style) were parting with clothes, shoes, bags and books from our wardrobe. In addition, we had Rashmi (who sells at Azure in Khar) with accessories on display.
Day 1 was quite an adventure. It was a smooth ride though because I had my mum (an experienced fashion designer) and my sister (a pro salesgirl) helping me. We had a sweet couple buying a couple of things from us. The boy, while paying, reminded us that he could avail a 10% discount since he had come with a friend. He even offered to tweet. For the record, everyone who came with a friend was entitled to their 10% discount.
Day 2 had its own highlights. A lady who was picking up stuff for her daughter made many purchases from us. Salonee (of She Sells) made an appearance. We had a lot of people offering to sell their old stuff. They were quite impressed with our managerial skills. It was definitely encouraging. Aastha and I plan to whip up something soon.

One of our happy shoppers, Anamika was very excited about the clothes she picked up from me. At the yard sale, she shared her enthusiasm with Aastha. She has been kind enough to send me pictures of herself. Check her out in the baby pink tunic.
We obviously wouldn’t have had so much fun if the people at Bliss hadn’t opened up their courtyard to us or been so supportive. Those of you who checked out the store at the yard sale ended up buying so many things from them. They’re just darling. It’s a work in progress but you may just see Alice’s stuff at Bliss in the coming future. Watch this space.
I’m aware that Alice has been missing in action. But I’ve been wandering… in my head and around the world. I promise to share all my adventures soon.
While I was blog surfing and facebook page hopping, I came across Aastha Atray. We had quite a few friends in common and a passion for style. We caught up over a cup of coffee and discussed the possibility of a yard sale.
We looked at our closets and found we had a lot of stuff that would do better with you lovely people. We approached the nice people at Bliss. And here we are, a yard sale tomorrow!
You can have a look at some of the stuff I’m selling here:

It’s on Friday, the 17th of December from 2 to 8 pm and Saturday, the 18th of December from 12 to 8 pm. For those of you who can’t make it to the sale, we’ll put up the stuff online for a day and work out shipping for those who want to buy.
To your advantage, 4 style bloggers will be present and available to give you tips on how to style everything you buy. We’re hoping to see you.
