To green or not to green?

I create this post on the 5th day of my fast. I’m half-way through.
Why am I fasting? I was born to a family that follows Jainism by way of religion.
These 8 days are considered extremely sacred for Jains.
The basic guiding principle of Jainism as I have understood it to be is not to harm any form of life.
Our priests (if you may call them that) advocate staying away from greens, underground roots, non-vegetarian food (of course) in our diet.

This 8 day festival is called Paryushan (in Gujarati). Most people I come across confuse it with pradushan (meaning pollution in Hindi).

That is an interesting confusion.
For the eight days of paryushan, Jains do not eat greens.
To reduce pradushan, going green is the best alternative.

We live in an age where eco-friendly options are easily available.
So much literature is available on the subject.
And it is even considered “fashionable” to be environmentally friendly.

The particular outfit I have embedded below is my pictorial representation of when I felt very green.

I have come to understand the bag is probably eco-friendly too. I love to carry it around. In other news, I’m still looking for the perfect green footwear.

I adore these Old Navy thong sandals. They’re so comfortable. I have to thank Aniruddha for introducing me to the little shop in a mall I would have never otherwise stepped foot in: Evolve.

Do you love the colour green? What do you do to go green? Keep me posted!

Of musicians & their tee(s)

Speaking of musicians and their fascination for t-shirts here

On the American television dramedy (comedy/drama) series titled Gilmore Girls, Gil (Sebastian Bach) wears this t-shirt:

Gil | Sebastian Bach

In real life, he is a Canadian Hard Rock singer, also the ex-frontman for band Skid Row.

On the show, Gilmore Girls, he plays a guitarist for cast member Lane’s band, Hep Alien.

A music lover would probably have instantly recognized the t-shirt.
As it is a classic Fender’s t-shirt lettered Musician: Looking for Groupies.

You could find it online here

What’s so special about this t-shirt, you ask?

Well, well, who other than I has this t-shirt? :)

My Fender's t-shirt

Classic Musician t-shirt

As is usually the case of my good luck, I found the t-shirt at a mall in Bangkok. It was being exported to the showrooms. Hence, I found an original at the cost price. :P

And boy, did I have fun with it.
Below are some snapshots of my friend and I goofing around while I was wearing the t-shirt.

Hope you guys liked the post!
If you have a t-shirt you like to sport and spotted it on a tv show or on film, share your experiences in the comments section.

Until then, keep it stylish. Keep it fun!

At Filmfare, we carry this page titled Instant Copy

Because everyone has a little fun when they see
more than one person wearing the same outfit

What is even more fun for me though
Is to randomly snap my friends, family and people off the street
Wearing an item of clothing previously seen on a celebrity

So, at a Filmfare photo shoot, I was taking behind the scenes photographs.
Shahid Kapoor was talking about his recent trip to Bangkok.
He had picked up funky t-shirts from Bangkok and preferred
To wear them for the shoot because a personal touch
Always adds to the styling. Don’t you agree guys?

Well, a couple of months later, I spotted him wearing one of the t-shirts
To a promotional event for his upcoming film then, Paathshala

Here’s the page from Filmfare.

(That I recorded and colleague edited :-) )

And after the press screening of Cats & Dogs,
a friend tagged me along to a gig at Firangi Paani.
The band Zedde was performing.

And here’s what we snapped of the lead vocalist and guitarist.

Pretty cool, eh?
Although the t-shirt seems to carry a common graphic print,
I love the feel of it.
Shall locate it online for you guys. xoxo

And, now, time for a fun poll.

Hello world!

Turning heads on a station bridge

It was a really hot day! The summer was harsh!
But I wanted to feel bright and happy. So, I was wearing my pwetty pink bow…
to represent the general happiness of life.
