I first went to Sula Vineyards at Nashik in 2009. I was obviously charmed and enamoured. I have been visiting every year after that and the place has only become bigger, better and more beautiful. On a Tuesday, last week, Sula Vineyards invited me to spend the day there. My sister, Himani (whose photographs you often see on the blog) accompanied me. Also, I have deemed her the official photographeress for everything I do. 🙂 Check out her work at www.himanishah.in.
So, here’s a photo story on how we spent the day in wine and food heaven.
After a long, 4 hour journey from Mumbai to Nashik, we lunched at the Soleil by La Plage.
Fun fact: We celebrated our arrival with a Sula Brut Rosé bottle. And we learnt that what we see in the movies about popping open a bottle of bubbly is not the right way to go about it if you want to drink the wine. We actually saw a demo on how gently the cork comes off if done right.
Now that you know what has been putting a spring in my step and keeping me up at night with excitement, it’s time to hear the stories of the women that have magically partaken in this journey with me. I asked them 3 very pertinent questions. Their replies were honest, instinctive and had me at hello.
Alice:When someone asks, what do you do?, what is your reply?
Himani: I’m a multiplex tycoon. Jk… I work with my dad who owns Gold Cinema, a chain of cinemas across India. Gold takes the multiplex experience to lakhs of people who have never experienced it before. The unique concept not only provides entertainment to 2 & 3 tier towns but also leads to development & urbanisation. Along with this I am also a freelance photographer specialising in portraiture, landscapes & travel photography.
Isn’t it tricky what you should wear when you go shopping? I was headed to the Tommy Hilfiger store in Mumbai to review their spring/summer collection and hopefully, make an addition to my wardrobe.
What I wore: Flower Pot Printed Dress – Chemistry | Clutch – BlackCurrent at Bliss | Shoes – Platinum Mall, Bangkok
What I tried: I put together three different looks so you get a feel and idea of the range.
First up, it was a blue and white dress with piping on the neckline and a waist belt to match. I loved the casual avatar. The fabric is perfect for the summers, the striped pattern is classic and the silhouette comfortable. And you don’t need to break the bank to own it, it’s aptly priced.
Alice Wandering… was invited to a bloggers’ meet organised by Ralph Lauren to introduce their Big Pony fragrance collection for women before it hits the Indian market. I would’ve probably missed it since I was attending a screenwriting workshop but my sister came to the rescue. She went for it and told me all about it. I was so impressed and inspired by the collection and what she had to say, I just had to share it with all of you.
The Big Pony Collection for Women is a series of four fragrances embracing dynamic femininity. It explores four vital attributes; Sporty, Sensual, Free-Spirit and Style. All four colorful fragrances are bright, playful, energizing and set upon a floral backdrop. Based on a duo of ingredients, each fragrance pops with a unique accent of Citrus, Fruit, Green or Oriental to establish a clear identity with a distinctive twist.
Last week, post the World Cup celebrations, Aastha and I had our third garage sale. We were in a different venue and Kino 108 was a great host! We were also really excited to have those of you we met over emails and facebook. A huge thanks to all of you who have been writing in. We will plan something soon! I think what was most special was that we now have regulars. Some of you have attended and shopped at all three of our sales! Kisses.
