Care for Cocktail? I sure do!

Maybe it’s because Deepika Padukone is active on twitter only when promoting her upcoming films. Or maybe because someone told me she delivers her best performance in Cocktail. In any case, I happened to see this tweet on my timeline and I had to instantly check out the trailer.

My major interest in the film lies in the fact that Imtiaz Ali has written it. (Of course!) However, Homi Adajania has directed it, Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh Vijan and Sunil Lulla have produced it. And Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty star in it.

I like how they’re going about the publicity for the film. It started with an exclusive facebook invite to a cocktail party and has continued with a midnight launch of the trailer. Even the film’s poster resembles a Polaroid picture. You approve? What are your thoughts so far?

How hot is Ranbir Kapoor as a rockstar?! Last evening, him and A R Rahman and Mohit Chauhan and team Rockstar performed a concert to promote the movie. I thought Ranbir Kapoor was droolworthy. Don’t you agree?

My favourites from the album are: Jo Bhi Main, Saada Haq, Katiya Karun and Tum Ho. That makes up a big chunk of the album but such is A R Rahman music. Which is your favourite track?

Every movie going experience is an adventure
You could bump into a friend, an actor or an usher
You could relate to what is unfolding on the silver screen
And stumble upon a toe or two in the dark

Be careful what you wish for though
When you’re looking for answers
The universe conspires to show you so many

Last week, my friend was making me jealous…
He went to watch a film that I’d been begging him to come see

And of course, Imtiaz Ali had to be there for a promotional event
He’s not expendable, that’s quite proven
Disturbingly rather, he’s being held back, tied to a chair

I like PVR. They always have promotional memorabilia on display.
I’ve clicked one too many pictures with Woody and others.
Of course, they’re pushing Aisha a bit much now.

Anyway, Aisha was running a contest.
A special goody bag would be awarded to an interesting picture
taken with an Aisha poster.

Well, to be flanked by an Imtiaz Ali look-alike on one hand
And the eternal cowboy, Woody on the other
Is a lucky girl’s perfect picture moment, mine at least.

Well, my life is always an adventure
I’ve been crushing on ‘Dhruv’ from Aisha
That we almost have the same name is just brownie points

Arunoday Singh was sitting in the same row
Just a few seats away. So, I had quite an eye-candy blast.
Amidst all the brawn of ‘The Expendables’

For those of you wondering…
He says his life is pretty much the same post Aisha.
I guess only a couple thousand more crushes, maybe.
My girlfriends agree. :P

And now for some Imtiaz Ali trivia.
I interviewed directors and stylists for a feature story.
And asked them one question.

A big happy birthday shout-out to Saif Ali Khan.
He’s an actor I have grown to like over the years.
With Love Aaj Kal, I have simply become a fan.

At the press screening, he greeted us at the entrance.
He’d overheard the conversation we were having while crossing the street.
He’s sharp like that.

I’d worn my custom-made Chor Bazaari inspired kurta.
Apparently, theme dressing for screenings is my thing.
But I’m more than happy to do it. :)

In all this Love Aaj Kal ness…

Look what I came across while reading the GQ.
I had loved his cover shoot. The pictures were so in sync with a fab interview.
I have a soft spot for the particular picture listed below.
