Shahid & Priyanka | Boxers or tees?

So, yes, we all heard poor PC was raided by the I.T. department and Shahid answered the door, dressed in nothing but boxers. 😛

When I looked at the images to follow, though, I wondered if they were sharing taste in more than boxers, perhaps, t-shirts?

You must remember this t-shirt Shahid Kapoor wore to a promotional charity event for his film Paathshala. He seems to be having fun with his director, Ahmed Khan. Re-read my post: Fashion for all | Shahid Kapoor to jog your memory.

Priyanka Chopra has been in the news for reasons other than the I.T. raid. One of her most ambitious films Saat Khoon Maaf is up for release and she’s doing the promotional rounds. Take a look at what she wore to the Radio Mirchi studio.

While she’s prompting that you check out director Vishal Bhardwaj, you can’t help but notice the strikingly similar t-shirt to Shahid’s. We may never know what kind of boxers Priyanka will be caught in but we know for sure this couple likes to listen with headphones on their t-shirts.

I love ’em huge headphones and would love ’em even more on my t-shirt.

Are you a music lover? How do you incorporate music in your sense of style? Stay tuned! Alice is pitching a high note these days.

Wake up and look at the t-shirt

It is quite literally what I did this morning.

I logged on to a blog I discovered in the tweeple jury list of nominees: The Bombay Talkies. Check it out:

She had put up a funny, yet detailed post on the many shirts of Sid (Ranbir Kapoor in Wake Up Sid). It read:

“Over the course of the year Wake Up Sid has become one of my favorite movies.  It’s not convoluted or contrived or overly sappy, it doesn’t try to hard to be cool, there’s no faux-badassness or celebrity vanity showing through.  It’s just a sweet, simple story about two people and the lives they make for themselves.

It helps that Ranbir Kapoor’s more than a pretty face–the boy can act.

What else can he do, you ask?

He can wear a freaking t-shirt.  And seeing as how the production team went to great lengths to feature him in every version of “pop culturally-relevant graphic t-shirt” known to man, I feel it’s only appropriate to ogle…erm, observe him in a few of them.”

We ALL loved his t-shirts, didn’t we? I had people in office asking me to do a shopping special on cartoon t-shirts. (I did, btw) I immediately got on the bandwagon of praises for WUS, wrote an extensive column and spoke with the costume designers.

Here’s the page from the archives:

Which favourite cartoon would you like to have on your t-shirt? Which tee from Ranbir Kapoor’s collection in Wake Up Sid is your favourite. Write in with your answers! I can’t wait to read.

Ranbir Kapoor must really like Rocky

First, at a press meet for 3 Idiots, way back in 2009, we spotted cousin sister Kareena Kapoor sporting a t-shirt with a Rocky graphic.

Later, at the launch of People magazine’s sexiest cover, we spotted Ranbir Kapoor in a t-shirt with the Rocky Balboa graphic. He usually likes to pair graphic print tees with leather jackets and denims. More on that in an upcoming post.

Ranbir must really like this t-shirt because he wore it in a pivotal scene in his not-so-great release of 2010, Anjaana Anjaani.
The scene is as follows. Ranbir and Priyanka have pulled into Las Vegas almost broke with enough money to spare for only one motel room. They decide to freshen up before heading out. You see Ranbir pull out his Rocky t-shirt, show his abs (girls were swooning in the theatre) and almost share a kiss with Priyanka.

On an aside, I’m loving the expressions on their faces in these frames. If you’ve watched the film (don’t feel bad if you haven’t), you would have noticed the t-shirt on Ranbir and wondered where you could get something similar.

To which I have to say, ‘don’t worry’. In the city of Mumbai, where Marilyn Monroe queries are responded to with Marilyn Manson products, I found a Rocky Balboa t-shirt. Yay me! Now, you can get it too! At Shoppers’ Stop.

Excuse me for not the amateur product photography. Anyhow, when I saw this t-shirt, I was instantly reminded of two people who are huge Rocky fans. Luckily for me, the t-shirt was available in two colours: white and grey (as pictured above). I couriered one and gift-wrapped and hand-delivered the other. They seemed to like it. 🙂

So, hurry and get yours!

If you’re a fan and looking for a specific t-shirt but running into dead-ends, superDhruvi shall come to your rescue. Simply post the film/artist/band/etc you want on your t-shirt and I shall either locate it or design one. Alternatively, shoot me an email with your requirements and I promise we will work it out. :*

Zoozoo in a Baaraat

While it is the holidays for most people, it is also wedding season!

I’ve been having a blast. First, it was my school friend’s roka (a formal announcement of one’s marriage) and then, it was my friend’s sister’s marriage.

The most popular song at any ‘sangeet’ this season has been ‘Aivai aivai’ from Band Baaja Baaraat. It was undoubtedly one of the best films to have released this year. And appropriate to the Indian scenario where marriages seem to be more of a celebration than Christmas or New Year’s.

Now is it possible for me to watch a film and not spot a piece of clothing I already own or don’t have a connection with? You got that right.

In Band Baaja Baaraat, Bittu (Ranveer Singh) is a final year student of Delhi University. He is shown wearing t-shirts and jeans through most of the film. Some of the t-shirts are really quirky.

In the song, ‘tarkeebein’, if you freeze at 1:07, 2:49 and 3:01, you will catch Ranveer wearing a Zoozoo t-shirt.

Zoozoo t-shirts are really popular with the youth. Every other week, someone on the train will be spotted wearing it. It’s extremely fascinating that an advertising campaign started only a couple of years ago has achieved such popularity.

Personally, I think Zoozoos are adorable. That’s probably why my friend gifted me a ‘Miss Zoozoo’ t-shirt on my birthday last year. I endorse it even though I’m not a Vodafone user. 🙂

I just love the graphic on the tee. It’s so me. Especially, the zoozoo plucking petals at the back. You can buy a Zoozoo t-shirt from any Shoppers’ Stop. They’re the official retailers for this Vodafone merchandise. Or you can buy them online here.

I wore it to Indigo Cafe and had their amazing wine & mushroom risotto. You vegetarians should definitely try it.

Do you love the Zoozoos? Share your happy memories of them. I’d love to hear!
