Isn’t it tricky what you should wear when you go shopping? I was headed to the Tommy Hilfiger store in Mumbai to review their spring/summer collection and hopefully, make an addition to my wardrobe.
What I wore: Flower Pot Printed Dress – Chemistry | Clutch – BlackCurrent at Bliss | Shoes – Platinum Mall, Bangkok
What I tried: I put together three different looks so you get a feel and idea of the range.
First up, it was a blue and white dress with piping on the neckline and a waist belt to match. I loved the casual avatar. The fabric is perfect for the summers, the striped pattern is classic and the silhouette comfortable. And you don’t need to break the bank to own it, it’s aptly priced.
Second, it was red jeans paired with an evening top. Coloured denims are all the rage right now, aren’t they? If you really want to play it safe, opt for a brick red pair. To spruce it up, you could choose an evening top in a dark colour with sequined detail. It spells sexy chic. The store also has baby pink coloured denims. Give it a try if the colour’s up your alley.
Third, an evening dress in the colour of the season accented with a rope belt. This neonish orange colour instantly brightened me up. It even complements the Indian skin tone well. The cut is really smart. The best part is it is on trend. You could add a quirky element to this otherwise solid coloured outfit with a rope like belt available at the store.
What I saw: I loved the displays, especially the swimwear. I figured there is a full range of bikini and bathing suit designs. It comprises a ‘Classics’ line with young-looking polka dots, vichy checks, stripes and ruffles, and a ‘sophisticated’ line with TH prints and paisleys, with cleaner, elegant lines and piping details. An additional Black & White Story brings tasteful monochrome styling to the swimwear line, which we can also accessorize with beachwear, towels and flip-flops and light summer wear (dresses, shorts and kaftans) in poplin.
Broadly, the Womenswear collection has been divided into three fashion groups. The first one contains pocketed shirts, blouses with rolled up sleeves, safari dresses, slim chinos, cargo and scout shorts in neutral khaki tones with canyon oranges and hazy yellow highlights. The second group has clean lines, spring blazers paired with new pant shapes/lengths for chino and denims, modern pencil skirt, biker jackets in tones of chambray, indigo blues and fresh jade green. The third group is all about new, colourful or washed out preppy stripes in fresh white with soft sun bleached colours.
Certain things in the men’s section also caught my eye but I’ll leave you boys to go discover that. 🙂
So what do you think? Are you going to shop at Tommy Hilfiger or not? Do you want me to review the spring/summer collections of other brands in stores now? Leave your thoughts in the comments section happy shiny people.
